Search For Licensees
The licence information returned through this Search Licensees section is current as of the date and time the inquiry is made.
This means you obtain the same public information through this site as if you called our office at the same point in time. Please read through the following
information carefully to ensure that you understand how to properly search and interpret your search results.
How to Search
-
TO SEARCH FOR AN INDIVIDUAL: Search on all or part of the beginning of a last and/or a
first name. Do not input anything into the corporate name field. If you have the file number for the individual, this is all
you will need. HINTS: If you are searching for an individual, but you are not sure of the spelling, then input only the
first few letters of the last name and first name or initial. Be careful of first names, since some people use their second name or a
shortened name in their day-to-day life. This search will check for legal first names. You may search on only last or first name.
-
TO SEARCH FOR A CORPORATION: Input all or part of the begining of the company name. This
will search for corporate (or partnership) licensees. (i.e. agencies, dealerships or firms). Do not input anything in
any other fields on the Search. If you have the file number, this is all you need. HINTS: If you
are having a problem finding a company, try adding "%" at the begining of the name. There is no search capability for insurance
companies in the corporate name field.
-
Searches are not case sensitive.
-
If you wish to search by employer file number, you must first search the employer
name and find the file number.
-
Insurance company file numbers are not public
information and therefore cannot be provided by Council to anyone, except the insurance company itself.
FAQ: Can I do a “string” search? (ex: search for all company names that have FINANCIAL
anywhere in it)
Yes you can by using a "%" sign. As an example, if you input "%financial" in the corporate name, the search will return all corporations which have "financial" in its name.
Search Results

Results of a search will display in name order. Click on the View Details column ([…]) to view licence details.

-

Licence Status Details
-
A person or company may have more than one licence. Some active, some not. Check
the banner at the top of the licence details to see if there is more than one licence. Use the NEXT button to scroll through
all available licence screens, before making any decisions on what you are viewing.
-
Inactive licences will display. Read the STATUS section carefully.
-
If a licence shows as Terminated, this simply means that Council
was notified by the former licensee, the employer and/or the sponsor that the licensee is no longer acting
as an adjuster, agent or salesperson.
