Disciplinary Decisions - Council Rules Course

The Council Rules Course, introduced in 2016, provides instruction on a licensee's obligations under Council Rules, provincial legislation, and other regulatory responsibilities. 

In a notice to licensees issued on April 18, 2018, ICN 18-003 Revision of Council Rules Course Requirements, the following requirements were implemented:
 
  1. Effective June 1, 2018, all individuals who obtain an insurance licence in British Columbia are required, under Council Rule 7(5), to complete the Council Rules Course during their first licence period, except those that qualified for their insurance licence under the Reinstatement Provision in Council Rule 2(19).

  2. Effective March 1, 2019 and in accordance with Council Rule 2(14), all individuals must complete the Council Rules Course to qualify for licensure with Council, except those that qualify for licensure under the Reinstatement Provision in Council Rule 2(19).
