How does the application process work?
The accreditation process establishes a transparent, multi-stage assessment for education providers and their programs. A set of established standards are used to determine course provider suitability to administer courses.
These standards include:
- Education provider and program management: organizations have sound governance, effective management practices and adequate resources to deliver quality education
- Education content: program materials and delivery methods are comprehensive, accurate and aligned with the General Insurance Competency Framework
- Competency framework alignment: courses must teach the ability to use knowledge and skills to proficiently perform workplace tasks and baseline understanding of insurance professionalism required for licensing at all levels
- Assessment and reassessment: programs are initially evaluated to ensure it meets accreditation requirements and to ensure content is still relevant, is reassessed every four years
We currently are not accepting applications, however applicants are encouraged to review their current education materials to ensure they meet the program standards outlined in the Program Guide or to develop new education programs ahead of time for the Licensing Education Accreditation Program launch.
