The Insurance Council’s licence period runs from June 1 to May 31, annually, and licensees are required to meet continuing education (CE) requirements for that year.
Starting 2021, for licensees who receive their licences in the three months before the end of the licence period (March 1 to May 31), the CE requirements for that year will be waived.
In other words, if you are a licensee who receives your licence between March 1 and May 31, 2021, you are not required to complete CE credits for the 2021 licence period. Then, from June 1, 2021, onward you will be required to complete
CE specific to your licence class to apply towards the 2022 licence period by May 31, 2022, when you submit your first annual licence renewal.
