Welcoming feedback from General Insurance Licensees about the General Insurance Competency Framework indicators

Published February 4, 2025

We are inviting all general insurance licence holders to provide input regarding the General Insurance Competency Framework indicators. In May 2024 General Insurance Licensees were invited to review the competencies outlined in the General Insurance Competency Framework (the framework) and provide their input. The responses indicated widespread support amongst each licence category which resulted in the validation of the framework by licensees. Council approved the competencies in September 2024.

We are now seeking input regarding the indicators which provide additional detail for how the specific competencies can be demonstrated and assessed. We invite all general insurance licence holders to familiarize themselves with the draft frameworks with indicators and provide input for Council’s consideration.

We will be accepting feedback from February 3 – March 5, 2025. After reviewing responses, the Insurance Council will determine if any indicators require revision. Following the consultation period, a final General Insurance Competency Framework will be presented to Council for approval.
