Reminder: New course requirements for General Insurance Level 3

The Insurance Council's new
Supervision Course for General Insurance Agents, available from July 2024, covers key topics like supervisor and supervisee roles, conduct requirements, and best practices.
As of October 1, 2024, individuals applying for a general insurance agent
Level 3 licence are required to complete this course to fulfill one of the prerequisites for applying for a Level 3 licence which replaces the "Duties & Responsibilities for Level 3 Agents and Nominees in British Columbia" seminar previously offered by the Insurance Brokers Association of BC (IBABC).

The
Supervision Course for General Insurance Agents is an online course accessible via the Insurance Council website. The course is $100 and registration is available by logging into your online portal account.
Although level 2 and existing level 3 general insurance agent licensees are not required to take the course, they are encouraged to do so as it will provide an overview of supervision expectations and is eligible for two CE credits.
